Model 1 and Model 10 pocket pens
Both Model 1 and Model 10 pens come in a short-bodied variant that I call a Quokka. Quokkas are the Platypus pocket pens. Closed, they are shorter than a Kaweko Sport, and they become full-sized once the cap is posted on the back. (Yes, the caps post securely, but not deeply.)
Most of the details of the Quokkas are the same as the full-sized pen of the same model, but Quokkas only take short standard international cartridges because of their stubby bodies.
My own Quokka(s)
I carry a Model 1 Quokka in my pants pocket every day and use it at every opportunity. People often remark at the cute pen that I seems to appear from nowhere for form filling or shopping list ticking. It’s a pen, so I can do anything with it!
I am onto my third Quokka because my mother wanted the first when I showed it off to her, and I gave the second to an admiring friend. Maybe Quokkas should be purchased in bulk…

A full-sized pen in your pocket
The grip and body diameter and cap are all the same as the full-sized pens, so when you write with a Quokka it feels just as good as the full-sized pens do.
Keep it with you
The Quokkas are compact and robust enough to live in your pants pocket. You will have the pleasure of fountain pen writing available all of the time.
If Quokkas are so small, why do Quokkas cost the same as the full-sized pen? (Aren’t fountain pen prices connected to pen size?)
It takes me just as long to make a Quokka as it does to make the full sized Model 1 or Model 10, so it costs you the same amount to buy one.
