The pens below are in stock and available for purchase immediately. New pens will be made in small batches and added to this web page fairly (ir)regularly.
If you do not see a pen that suits then you can ask for a pen to be custom made with your choice of colours and patterns. Custom orders carry an additional $50 fee.

Model 1 pens
Model 1 pens take #5-sized nibs. I can Schmidt FH341 units in F, M, or B, and also have a small stock of Jowo #5 units that can alternatively be fitted. Model 1 pens are clipless and have the Platypus-exclusive eccentric ballast roll-stop.
Full-sized Model 1 pens come with a cartridge converter and Quokkas come with a box of short standard international cartridges.
- A: Model 1 Quokka pattern 1 in Sidd’s Crushed Abyssal Red and Sidd’s Crushed Electric Purple. $150
- B: Model 1 fluted pattern in PolyAlchemy Elixir Abyss and unbranded Scarlet. The Abyss is a very dark grey, almost black. $150
- C: Model 1 fluted pattern in White Marble and PolyAlchemy Elixir Alpha Brass. The White Marble has flecks of black that make is look a little like, well, marble. The Alpha Brass is a dark brown. $150
- D: Model 1 spirals pattern in PolyAlchemy Elixir Onyx and Aquamarine. The Onyx is a middle grey that is a bit lighter than it looks in the photo. The spirals pattern really plays with the light and comes alive with movement. $150
- E: Model 1 fluted pattern in Protopasta iron-filled HTPLA with Polymaker Starlight Aurora bands. The iron-filled plastic is very slightly rough and that gives the pen a lovely grippy feel. It is also quite heavy and so the pen has more heft than normal. $150
- F: Model 1 harlequin pattern in PolyAlchemy Elixir Aquamarine and Prusament Galaxy Black. $150
Model 2 pens
Model 2 pens feature the Platypus-exclusive twist filling system. They take #5 nibs in custom screw in units with ebonite feeds. I can supply them with Schmidt nibs in F, M, or B, and also have a small number of Bock and Jowo nibs that can also be used.
All model 2 pens are in the fluted pattern and, unless otherwise stated, the clips are in shiny dark gunmetal grey.
- A: Prusament Galaxy Black, FormFutura Silver, and Sidd’s Copper. The Galaxy Black has flecks of silvery sparkles. $250
- B: Polymaker Starlight Aurora, Spectrum Glorious Gold, and Protopasta Double Espresso. The green Aurora is slightly iridescent which does not show well in the photo. $250
- C: SOLD! Protopasta Double Espresso, Spectrum Glorious Gold, and Polymaker Starlight Aurora. The brown Double Espresso has coppery sparkles. $250
- D: White marble, Polymaker Black, and Prusament Oh My Gold. The Marble filament has specks of black that makes it resemble (vaguely) a marble column. White pens need extra attention to cleaning on the outside as even minor ink residue will show up. $250
- E: Polymaker Black, Sidd’s Crushed Abyssal Red, and FormFutura Blue. A shiny black pen in the classic black pen style, but more interesting. $250
- F: Sidd’s Burnt Titanium and PolyAlchemy Elixir Aquamarine. Burnt Titanium is a deep blue full of shiny sparkles. The Aquamarine looks to be exactly the same colour as the sparkles in the Burnt Titanium, so this a great colour match. $250
Model 10 pens
Model 10s are the big brothers to Model 1. They take #6-sized nibs in Schmidt, Jowo, or Bock units. Those units are not interchangeable as they have different dimensions and threads, so any particular Model 10 pen will only fit one brand of nib. Model 10 pens are clipless and have the Platypus-exclusive eccentric ballast roll-stop.
Model 10 pens come with a cartridge converter or, for Quokkas, a box of short standard international cartridges.
- A: Model 10 Quokka pattern 2 in Spectrum Amethyst Violet and Ruby Red. Schmidt nib in F, M, or B.
- B: Model 10 pattern 2 in PolyAlchemy Elixir Onyx and Aquamarine. Schmidt nib in F, M, or B.
- C: Model 10 pattern 1 in PolyAlchemy Elixir Alpha Brass and Bronze. Jowo EF nib.
- D: Model 10 pattern 4 (“dimples”) in Polymaker Starlight Neptune and Protopasta Heartthrob Red. Schmidt nib in F, M, or B.
- E: Model 10 pattern 2 in Aurarum Sliky Blue and white. Jowo nib, currently fitted with a 1.1mm stub.
Model 20 pens
Model 20 pens are the big brothers to the Model 2 pens. They are large, but would not nowadays be considered ‘over-sized’. They and feature the Platypus-exclusive twist filling system and have #6 Schmidt nibs mounted on an ebonite feed.
Unless otherwise stated, the clips of Model 2 pens are in shiny dark gunmetal grey.
- A: SOLD! Bricks pattern in PolyAlchemy Elixir Abyss and Aurarum Silky Blue. Despite how it looks in the photo, the clip is gunmetal grey. A fine Schmidt nib is fitted.
- B: Fluted pattern in Prusament Mystic Brown, Polymaker Cream, and Protopasta Heartthrob Red. No nib is fitted so you can ask for a Schmidt in F, M, or B.
- C: Ammonite pattern in Polymaker Black, and Polymaker Starlight Neptune and Nebula. This pen has a gold-coloured clip. The top of the cap, the blind cap, and the grip are all made of CF-filled black that has a satin finish that offers a good grippiness. No nib is fitted so you can ask for a Schmidt in F, M, or B.
- D: SOLD! Ammonite pattern in Polymaker Black, PolyAlchemy Elixir Aquamarine, and CF-filled black. The top of the cap, the blind cap, and the grip are all made of CF-filled black that offers a satin finish and enhanced grippiness. No nib is fitted so you can ask for a Schmidt in F, M, or B.
- E: Fluted pattern in Protopasta Double Espresso and Polymaker Copper. The Double Espresso has coppery sparkles that marry together the brown and copper bands. A fine Schmidt nib is fitted.
- F: SOLD! Vaulted panels pattern in Sidd’s Burnt Titanium, X3D Silver-Grey, and PloyAlchemy Elixir Aquamarine. A juicy broad Schmidt nib is fitted.
